I already said I thought it was shocking. Did you ignore that bit?

It's not happening everywhere the way Ireland are doing it. You convince yourself otherwise, though.

Kevin Kilbane never said that surely?

Is that the same Kevin Kilbane who was born and brought up in Preston?

I think the worst thing about plastic paddies being called up to the Irish team is that it takes the place of a genuine Irish player and hinders their development.

Likewise when our rugby and cricket teams pick foreign-born players.

Lol Kilbane wouldn't get a cap for Australia never mind England!

I've never heard of Mo Farah referred to as Somali British or Amir Khan as British Asian so you're talking bollocks.

Kevin Kilbane on Jack Grealish

Re: Young Villa player Jack Grealish
"Played youth team football" he only moved to England when he was 16 he hardly grew up in the English system.

I think every country would prefer homegrown players representing the national team, but it's going on everywhere in every sport, so why shouldn't ireland take advantage of it.

Could not agree more mate, and it you would've cut and paste when I was talking about that, you would have seen I thought it was filth we were making signals at him.

However, it's slightly different courting one player who could've played for about 5 different countries, and played youth football here. Again, I completely disagree with that, but it's hardly the same as systematically trawling England for anyone with an Irish nan.

Why is it in this country if your born to Irish parents your English but if your born to Pakistani parents your Parkistsni or at best Asian British not English!

Typical Irish mentality, things don't go their way and their next thought is terrorism!

For a bleeding heart lefty, that was strong from you. I've also just realised you're Irish.

Young Villa player.

Will now be...

Former Ireland Under 21 playmaker.

Or Birmingham born starlet.

Soon to be...

England International

Odd we feel the need to an adjective to every footballer / sportsman.

The Irish are a snidey bunch and this makes me laugh, especially as he likely won't ever play for England but could easily walk into the Ireland team now and probably be their best player.

Good lad, there will be a few toothless simpletons crying into their English invented Guinness over this.

eerie

Spot on mate it's embarrassing, you wouldn't see that from England.

Not really. Grealish has played for Ireland at various youth levels and is still going to get the chance to play for England.

Am sure they said when Matt Ritchie played for Scotland at Hampden recently that it was the first time he'd been to Scotland.

Gutted, Ireland?

Nah. Looking forward to seeing getting a 100 caps for England or maybe 1.

Born and bred in England = English

Likewise:

Michael Adebolajo born and bred in England = English.

and a bucket load of future refugee children to look forward to.

Enjoy!

Eerie Descent 8:59 Mon Sep 28
Re: Young Villa player Jack Grealish
Of course he chose England. He's English, and seems to be in the reckoning to be called up, why the fuck would he play for Ireland in that situation?

See, this thing that Ireland are doing, basically trawling round for young players at clubs who haven't yet been picked for England, offering them international football when they are young enough to have their heads turned, is fucking shocking, and anyone who eventually turns out good enough for England is of course going to regret it. It's wrong. They are trying to pick up kids who haven't even been to Ireland, talk about desperate.

Chambers-socktionary

Grealish (adj formed from noun "Greal")
